What Working Here Looks Like
Kung Fu Chicken is a hands-on food business based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, with branches and delivery support in Johannesburg, Soweto, Pretoria and Midrand. Our team works across dine-in service, takeaway, catering, and event food drops, so every day can look a little different. If you enjoy pace, teamwork, and practical work that keeps people fed, you will fit in well.
We are looking for people who can keep calm during lunch rushes, handle customers professionally, and follow kitchen and hygiene rules without fuss. In food service, the details matter, from stock rotation and portion control to keeping prep areas clean during load-shedding and busy weekend trade.
Roles We Commonly Hire For
We recruit across restaurant, kitchen, events, and support work. Some roles are customer-facing, while others happen behind the scenes where speed and consistency matter just as much. Depending on branch needs, we may look for people who can work full-time, part-time, or on event-based shifts.
- Front-of-house team members for orders, payments, and customer service
- Kitchen assistants for prep, packing, and cleanliness
- Grill and frying station staff for chicken, wings, and meal orders
- Delivery and dispatch support for local order coordination
- Catering and events support for office lunches, school meals, church functions, and family events
- Branch supervisors and team leaders with experience in food operations
What We Look For In Applicants
We value reliability more than talk. If you are on time, neat, and willing to learn, you already meet an important part of the brief. Experience helps, but a strong work ethic and a good attitude can go a long way in a busy kitchen and service environment.
- Clear communication and basic customer service skill
- Ability to work under pressure during rush periods
- Attention to hygiene, food safety, and stock handling
- Flexibility for shifts, weekends, and busy event days
- Respect for team processes and management instruction
Applicants with food prep, catering, retail, or hospitality experience are welcome, but we also consider entry-level candidates who are ready to learn and grow with the team.
How To Apply Through The Contact Page
To apply, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and mention the type of role you are interested in. Keep your details up to date, and include your location, work experience, and availability. If you have worked in food service before, add a short note about the kind of shifts or stations you have handled.
We review applications as needs come up across our branches and service areas, including Braamfontein, Soweto, Pretoria Central, Midrand, Newtown, Sandton, Centurion, and Randburg. If your profile matches a current need, a member of our team will get back to you through the contact details you provide.
Training, Standards, And Daily Rhythm
Food work needs consistency. Our team follows standard procedures for cooking, packing, cleaning, and customer handover so that every order leaves the same way it should. Training covers basic food safety, portion control, equipment care, and branch routines, including how to keep service moving when power interruptions or peak trade affect the day.
We also expect good housekeeping. Clean surfaces, labelled containers, correct storage, and proper waste handling matter in every branch, especially in warmer months and in high-traffic areas where kitchens and counters need constant attention.
A Team Built For Growth
Kung Fu Chicken has been serving South African customers since 2012, and our work continues to grow through branch service, takeaway orders, and catering for schools, churches, offices, community feeding, birthdays, and corporate lunches. That growth creates room for people who want to build a career, not just do a shift.
If you want to work in a setting where practical skill counts, where busy days are part of the job, and where good service is noticed, we would like to hear from you. Bring your energy, your CV, and a willingness to do the work properly.
